Missouri Law bans texting

This is a response to Alyssa's blogpost. After having to see that UK PSA on TV couple of weeks ago, I have decided that I'm going to stay being strong against texting and driving. One day I woke up with the radio on and the announcer said that Missouri now banned texting and driving -- but only for people under 21.

I don't care if it's 16 or 46. I think that texting and driving should be illegal for everyone. They say that its only teens in the age of 16-18 that get majorly distracted on the wheel when texting. The truth is, anyone who has one hand (or both) in a mobile phone, divided attentions between the road and the cellphone screen, and a mind who's not paying attention to his/her surroundings is hazardous to everyone else on the road. A 30 year old person who has long experience with driving can be a danger to innocent pedestrians or drivers around her. So wether one thinks he/she knows how to drive real good without looking at the road or brags that he/she has the capability to text really fast while driving should not drive at all! It's not the end of the world when you don't get to check your email or text messages for a couple of minutes.

Therefore, the texting and driving law should not only apply from ages 16 to 20. Missouri DMV should review that new law and try to figure out what's wrong with it. Besides, how would the cops know if you're under 21 or not without pulling you over?
